Daria and Francisco met in February 2018 in an old-fashioned night out. Yes, difficult to believe, but the truth. Our groups of friends started hanging out together, and Daria took Francisco to the dance floor. Not many words were exchanged, since Francisco wasn’t able to speak English correctly at the end of the night. Standing next to the entry door, Daria asked Francisco what direction he was heading to, and suggested taking the tube because London was too "dangerous" to walk at 4am in the morning. After a quick stop at the McDonald's in Kings Cross, numbers were exchanged and each one headed to different directions.

Francisco, looking for his own path which was temporarily taking an English course to boost his professional career, and trying to make new contacts and friends in a new country, reached out to Daria via WhatsApp, and spent time exploring the city and going for long walks. – Daria admits she wanted to catch Francisco before London polluted him. Daria was trying to settle in a fast-paced environment and the city after completing university in the UK.

With time, they learned that they had both lived in Spain, more specifically Madrid, and even on the same street! Calle de Francisco Silvela, but in different years. Fast tracking the story, months later, Francisco was meant to return to Spain but Daria talked him into staying in London for more job opportunities, and to spend more time with her…

If we were to describe the qualities of each one, Francisco is reliable, family oriented and deeply caring of their closest ones even when he doesn’t express a word about it. Once you pass the inexpressive face and arrogant gestures, you will find a friend forever. His soft spot is his little sister, Maria da Luz. On the other hand, Daria is someone smart, self-sufficient and loving, who constantly pushes herself for more, and is very stubborn. Her best quality is that she always makes an effort for everybody even to her own detriment. Her soft spot is her family.

It has not always been easy since Francisco is very particular– difficult –and has issues to communicate, and Daria is stubborn and doesn’t take criticism. But here we are, soon to be a married couple.
